At its meeting on Tuesday, June 9, the Coffee County Commission observed a moment of silence to honor former Commissioner Joe Mike Hodge, who recently passed away.
According to Manchester Funeral Home, Hodge died on Saturday, June 6. His visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 at Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. and will be followed by a processional at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
Hodge served as a county commissioner for District 4. His seat will sit empty until the August 6 local general election is decided. Mark T. Brothers (R), Tim Brown (R), Marlene Genesio (D), Dan Johnson (I), and Samuel Gage Myers (I) are competing for two seats representing District 4 on the County Commission.
