Manchester
On Sunday, Jan. 18, the day before MLK Jr. Day, the Coffee County Democratic Party is presenting a screening of the film “King in the Wilderness.” The screening will take place at the Coffee County Administrative Plaza starting at 3 p.m.
The event will also include a discussion focused on international politics.
“Attendees will discuss Trump’s attacks on Venezuela and attempts to annex Greenland,” the flyer said.
Below is the flyer’s description of the film being screened.
King in the Wilderness offers an intimate look at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final years, highlighting his opposition to the Vietnam War and militarism. It’s a powerful reminder that King’s vision of justice included speaking out against war–even when it was unpopular.
