Peterson Media Group extends congratulations to this week’s hometown heroes of the week across all four radio stations: Micah Frame (Thunder Radio), Kandace McGee (93.9 The Duck), Penny Shelton (The Rooster 101.5), and Aidan Ralston (Whiskey Country 105.1 & 95.9).

Frame is a firefighter with the Manchester Fire and Rescue Department. Here’s what the person who nominated him had to say:
“Micah Frame is an amazing firefighter for Manchester! He goes above and beyond for the safety of our town. He pours his whole heart into serving and caring for the Manchester community. His dedication, commitment, and passion for firefighting are truly unmatched.”
McGee is a corporal at the Tullahoma Police Department. Here’s what the person who nominated him had to say:
“Kandace McGee has demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service, leadership, and community advocacy throughout her nearly five years in law enforcement. Rising to the rank of Corporal and serving in a supervisory role, she consistently goes above and beyond in her commitment to both the citizens she protects and the officers she serves.
“Throughout her career, Kandace has played a vital role in mentoring and training new officers, helping shape the next generation of law enforcement professionals through her guidance, professionalism, and example. One of her most impactful accomplishments has been developing a domestic violence training program that is now taught department-wide during annual training. Her work has helped ensure officers are equipped with the knowledge and compassion needed to support victims and handle these difficult situations effectively.
“Drawing from both personal experience and professional expertise, Kandace is a trusted advocate, mentor, and leader among her peers. She continually works to improve morale, strengthen her department, and create positive change within law enforcement. Her selfless dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving others make her truly deserving of being recognized as a Hometown Hero.”
Shelton is the Director of Nursing at Legend’s Nursing Home. Here’s what the person who nominated her had to say:
“Penny Shelton has dedicated her life to helping others and always goes the extra mile for her patients. As Director of Nursing at Legend’s Nursing Home, she leads with compassion, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to those in her care. She expects the same level of dedication from those she supervises and sets the standard through her own actions every day.
“Penny gives that same devotion and care to her family. She is a wonderful wife, mother, and ‘Mena’ to her grandchildren. Her kindness, strength, and selflessness have touched countless lives both personally and professionally. To know Penny is to love her, and she is truly one of the strongest women I know.”
Ralston serves in the Tennessee National Guard. Here’s what the person who nominated him had to say:
“Aidan Ralston has shown an incredible commitment to serving his country at a young age. He chose to enlist in the Tennessee National Guard through the Split Ops program and completed Basic Training during the summer between his junior and senior year of high school. He later completed Advanced Individual Training in San Antonio, Texas, earning the title of Combat Medic.
“Currently serving as an E4 Specialist, Aidan is stationed in Memphis as part of the Memphis Safe Task Force, where he continues to make a positive impact through his dedication and service. His willingness to step up, serve others, and answer the call of duty reflects the character and determination that make him an outstanding role model for his community.”
