The Coffee County Central Lady Raider volleyball team defended their home court in dramatic fashion Thursday night, edging out rival Tullahoma in front of a loud, energized crowd. Coffee County pulled out a 3–2 victory in what proved to be a pivotal district matchup.
The Lady Raiders struck first, taking set one 25–23 before rolling in set two 25–17. Tullahoma fought back, however, claiming set three 25–17 and set four 25–22 to force a decisive fifth. Coffee County regrouped and left no doubt in the finale, dominating 15–7 to secure the win.
Coffee County spread the production across the floor. Jenslee Nogodula anchored the defense with 19 digs, while Danni Hillis delivered 4 aces and 8 kills. Hayleigh Harris added 7 kills, and Alyssa Goon turned in 15 digs along with 7 kills. Taylor Brinkley kept the offense moving with 17 assists to go along with 16 digs and 2 aces. Morgen Spears tallied 7 kills, while Andon Selvog handed out 13 assists and added a kill. Carrington Saner contributed 6 kills, and Cailey Sturgill finished with 3 kills to round out a balanced team effort.
With the win, Coffee County remains in first place in the district standings. The Lady Raiders are back in action Tuesday at home against Lawrence County, with first serve set for 6:00.
