Lila Jean Sherrill, age 93, of Hillsboro, TN, passed from this life Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Manchester, TN.
Mrs. Sherrill was born in Marion Co, TN to her late parents Orville Derrick and Reba McBee Derrick. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm all her life. She was baptized in 1977 and was a member of Cumberland Academy church of Christ and then later started attending Hillsboro church of Christ. Mrs. Sherrill was married to her late husband, Robert, for 58 years up until his passing. She cared so much for him and loved him fiercely until his passing. She was a great mother with a loving spirit for everyone. She would do anything for anybody.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Willis Derrick.
Mrs. Sherrill is survived by a daughter, Wanda Wells; sons, Dwight Sherrill and Allen Sherrill (Tammy); sister, Sandra Matlock (Wayne); grandchildren, Jason Wells, Lucas Wells, and Lee Sherrill; several great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Bobby Bush and Kayla Ater.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with funeral services starting at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
