Linda Gayle Ray of Tullahoma was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 28th, 2026 at the age of 80. Mrs. Ray was born in San Francisco, CA to the late Harvey H. Smith and MaBelle Milliron Smith. Her father served in the United States Navy, allowing a young Linda to live in and see many different parts of the country before graduating from Kirkman Technical High School in Chattanooga, TN. During her life, Linda worked as a secretary for the City of Tullahoma for 21 years, Builders Supply Co. for 19 years, and finally Satisfaction Windows for 10 years. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother (MeMe), great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She loved and served the Lord for many years as a member of Brownington Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and also served as the church secretary and a church board member. Linda’s family was the joy of her life, they played, sang, and had so many wonderful times together. She and her husband, Joe loved to travel, and created countless memories during their years together. She is survived by her husband, Joe Douglas Ray; her son, Jason Douglas Ray (Jennifer); half-sister, Sue Stebar; grandchildren, Carrington Beard (Jake), Anna Claire Ray, and Colson Ray; and one great-granddaughter, Ember Beard. Her husband, Joe’s family was also very special to her. Visitation for Mrs. Ray will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 5:00-8:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor William Brunosky officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
