Lottie was born on July 9, 1933 to parents Emmitt and Winnie Winton, in Coffee County, near Hillsboro, Tennessee. She was baptized into Christ in August of 1949 and was a member of the church of Christ at Beans Creek .
Lottie became the bride of Elmer Green on December 18, 1954 and they had 71 years of married life. Their first few years of marriage were spent in Virginia, while Elmer was serving in the United States Army. Since then, they have lived at Manchester, Tennessee.
Lottie and Elmer were faithful members of New Union church of Christ for many years, before moving to another house in Manchester, after which they were members of the congregation of the Lord’s church at Red Hill.
She is survived by her beloved husband Elmer, by son, David Green and grandson Jesse Green. She leaves behind two brothers, Joe (Frances) and Bob Winton, both of Coffee County. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a great number of close friends and fellow-saints.
Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Frances and brother Kenneth.
Lottie was a very out-going person, who made long-lasting friends very quickly. She grew up in a very closely-knitted family on a farm, where she learned hard work, which she continued throughout her life. During her long marriage, she was always active, a great help-meet to her husband, and mother to all of her family.
Indeed, she was a second mother to her three younger siblings, even after we were all grown! She taught this writer [Bob] about God, Christ and the Bible when he was only four or five years old, truths which have never been forgotten.
Her memory will remain eternally in the minds of all who knew and loved her, even in the eternal world! May her wonderful influence endure, however many years that may remain, before the return of our blessed Savior.
She will surely be missed by all her family and precious friends.
A graveside service will be held this Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Forrest Mills Cemetery in Manchester, TN.
