At the Manchester Finance Committee meeting on Feb. 17, the committee approved the purchase of a city hall pool vehicle.
Mayor Joey Hobbs said that the vehicle was needed due to the liability involved with city hall employees driving personal vehicles to run work-related errands like going to the bank or Recreation Center. He said City Finance Director Anthony Burrows would hold the key to the vehicle and check it out to employees.
Burrows said that the vehicle would be a used 2024 Dodge Durango and would cost $26,395. The city had already made a deposit on the vehicle at the time of the meeting.
The purchase was approved with a 2-0-0-1 vote. Vice Mayor Mark Messick and Alderman Thomas Crosslin were in favor while Alderman Donny Parsley was absent.
