At 7:17 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, the Manchester Fire Department responded to a structural fire at 301 Rose St.
The fire was in the attic. All occupants were outside of the home when MFD arrived. MFD was able to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Manchester Fire Department Chief George Chambers provided the following statement to Peterson Media Group at 9:24 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23.
“Manchester Fire responded to a structural fire tonight at 301 Rose St around 7:17 PM. Initial report was a fire in the attic with all occupants out of the home. Crews arrived on scene with reported fire coming out of the roof. Crews entered the home with an attack line and opened up a space in the ceiling and made a rapid knock down of the fire, once the primary fire was extinguished crews continued checking the attic to ensure the fire was totally extinguished. Duck River Electric was contacted to secure the power to the home. The Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the family. Manchester PD and Coffee County EMS provided on scene assistance to fire crews and did an excellent job as always as did the Coffee County Communication Center. Cause of the fire is under investigation.”
