The McMinnville Police Department (MPD) and Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) made significant arrests that led to drug seizures on Wednesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 23, respectively.
On Oct. 22, the MPD stopped a white Toyota Camry for speeding. The driver, 55-year-old Michael Gonzalez, and passenger, 32-year-old Sandra Gonzalez, were inside the vehicle with a 6-year-old child.
Sandra Gonzalez produced “a large bag of a crystal-like substance” that she had been hiding. She and Michael Gonzalez had been planning to sell the substance in McMinnville.
K9 Axel was deployed during the stop and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Officers searched the vehicle and found digital scales with residue, numerous pills, drug ledgers, and two firearms.
Both Michael and Sandra Gonzalez were arrested without incident and held on multiple charges. The Department of Child Services was notified, and the child was released to a family member.
On Oct. 23, the WCSO arrested 32-year-old Robert Alan Hutchins after serving him an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant. Hutchins was arrested without incident. Investigators found methamphetamine, suspected mushrooms, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia during their investigation.
Investigators located Hutchins hiding in a closet at his residence on Smithville Highway. After his arrest, he was transported to the Warren County Jail and faces charges related to drug possession and paraphernalia along with the outstanding warrant.
