Melissa Renee Mines, age 57, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1969, in Manchester, to Orville and Carolyn Cole.
Melissa was a strong and loving woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She absolutely adored her children and grandchildren, and the love she had for them was evident in everything she did. Her children looked up to her for the strength and resilience she carried throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family.
Melissa had a creative and artistic spirit. She was especially talented at making beautiful wreaths, which she enjoyed creating and selling. Her creativity was just one of the many ways she expressed herself and brought beauty into the lives of others.
She also had a deep love for music, with Pink Floyd and KISS among her favorite bands. Melissa enjoyed the excitement of hockey and was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Whether listening to music, watching hockey, creating something beautiful, or simply spending time with those she loved, Melissa found joy in the things that made life special.
Melissa will be remembered for her strength, her artistic heart, her love of music, and most of all, the tremendous love she had for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the love she gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Melissa is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Cole; her sister, Tammie Cole; and her husbands, David Dotson, Oceola Glenn Dodd Jr., and Jeff Mines.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Joshua Dotson (Miranda), Jessica Dotson, and Hayden Dodd; her beloved grandchildren, Abigail Dotson and Atticus Dotson; and her father Orville Cole.
