Metal And Tats, a Facebook group run by Dana Horne and his wife, has organized a fundraiser concert for Saturday, March 14.
Metal And Tats has organized multiple metal concerts during the five years Horne has lived in Coffee County. Horne said homelessness is an issue he is passionate about helping to address.
“I, myself, have been homeless in my life. There are many reasons why people become homeless, but regardless of the reason we all need a little help now and then. I know when it’s cold there are warming shelters that open, but no permanent homeless shelters for the rest of the year,” Horne said. “We would like to work towards putting in a permanent shelter. We want to help.”
The Metal for the Homeless concert will be held at 117 E. Fort St. in Manchester. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Horne asks that attendees pay a $10 cover charge or donate an unused blanket.
