Journey to Eternity will be collecting donations for veterans until Dec. 13 for its Operation Hope “Stuff the Carriage” event.
The program collects new and unused essentials such as clothes, hand warmers, hygiene products, and first-aid kits as well as entertainment items like playing cards and books.
Donations must be new and unused and are needed in assorted sizes. Below is a list of appropriate donations:
- Pajamas, clothes, shoes, and socks
- House slippers and robes
- Long johns and thermals
- Hand warmers
- Underwear
- Hygiene items
- First-aid kits
- Playing cards, books, and entertainment items
Below is a list of drop off locations:
- Farrar Bonding/Auto Sales, 1150 Winchester Hwy. in Fayetteville
- Deals on Wheels, 513 Madison St. in Shelbyville
- Farrar Bonding, 203 1st Ave. N., Lewisburg
- Ruth Clinic, 1300 Hatcher Ln. Ste. 5, Columbia
The carriage will be on display and collecting donations at the following locations on the following dates:
- Nov. 1 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): the Walmart in Shelbyville
- Nov. 1 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.): the Walmart in Tullahoma
- Nov. 8: the Veteran’s Day Parade in Shelbyville (drop off prior to parade in staging area)
- Nov. 11: the Veteran’s Day Parade in Huntsville, Alabama (drop off prior to parade in staging area)
- Nov. 15 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): the Walmart in Hazelgreen, Alabama
- Nov. 15 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.): the Walmart in Huntsville, Alabama
- Nov. 22 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): the Walmart in Manchester
- Nov. 22 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.): the Walmart in Winchester
- Nov. 29 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): the Walmart in Shelbyville
- Nov. 29 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.): the Walmart in Tullahoma
- Dec. 5: Tullahoma Christmas Parade (drop off prior to parade in staging area)
- Dec. 6: Shelbyville Christmas Parade (drop off prior to parade in staging area)
- Dec. 13 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): the Walmart at 2200 Sparkman Dr. in Huntsville, Alabama
- Dec. 13 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.): the Walmart at 6140a University Dr. NW in Huntsville
