At 10:46am on Friday, January 16th, Tullahoma Police and Tullahoma Animal Control
responded to a call concerning loose dogs on Short Springs Rd. near the area of Carter Blake Rd. in Tullahoma. Five dogs were seen in total. One was behaving aggressively and a second caller reported that a runner on the roadway was bitten. That same dog was also being aggressive toward the other four dogs when officers arrived. The runner’s injuries were minor and did not require medical transport or hospitalization, leaving the scene on their own after speaking with officers. There were no other injuries reported.
Animal control captured three of the five dogs at the scene, one of which was the aggressor. The dogs are of a mixed breed, and their exact breed is undetermined at this time. A responding officer deployed his tazer on the aggressive dog until animal control could take it into custody. The owner was contacted and took back four of the five dogs. The two dogs that were not captured were not aggressive and returned to the property they came from on their own. The other two dogs that were captured and not aggressive were also returned to the owner. The aggressive dog remains in custody of animal control. Officers determined the dogs escaped from damage to the fence where they live. The owner of the dogs was cited.
