Longterm Tullahoma resident, Sue Lillard Harvey, passed away on July 9, 2026, after a long and fruitful life. Sue was born in Mercer, TN and spent her early years in West Tennessee. Her parents, John and Myrtle Lillard, had six children and Sue was the last child to pass away. Sue was Valedictorian of her high school class, and she continued her education at Lambuth College in Jackson. Afterwards, she went to the University of Tennessee School of Medicine where she studied to be an X-Ray Technician. After graduation, she stayed to teach and while there she met an internist and future husband, Charles Harvey. They were married on March 13, 1955, and from this point on they would always be known to family and friends as “Charlie and Sue”. Sue was a devoted wife and followed Charlie to Grundy, WV, Baltimore, MD and Smyrna, TN during his military career. Ultimately, they moved to Tullahoma in 1958 where Charlie built a successful 34-year practice as a family physician. Sue was always by Charlie’s side and they loved each other dearly. Sue also loved her family, friends and community. She was pragmatic, optimistic and always willing to help others. She was deeply religious and was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder for six years and sang in the choir 1967-2018. Charlie and Sue enjoyed traveling, entertaining and playing golf at Lakewood Country Club where Sue won the Ladies Senior Golf Championship twice. But her happiest times were spending time with her family and grandchildren. Charlie passed away in August of 2015 after 60 years of marriage. Son, Mike passed in August of 2020. Sue is survived by three children: Charles (Jennifer) of Tullahoma; Steve, of Tullahoma; Burton (Patsy) of Nashville; and grandchildren Kathryn (Tyler) Moore of Nashville; Allyson (Phil) Dewitt of Memphis; Mary Graham Harvey-Bosarges (Andrew) of Houston; John (Rosa) Harvey of Alexandria, VA, Rob Harvey of Denver. She also had five beloved great-grandchildren. Visitation and Memorial Service date and times will be announced at a later date. Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Tullahoma
