Tullahoma City Schools made a statement to Peterson Media Group Tuesday confirming the school system is aware of reports that a teacher may have liked and commented on a post that expressed lack of empathy for Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
TCS’s statement:
“TCS is aware of concerns in the community about a social media post made by one of our teachers regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. First, TCS strongly condemns this act of violence and rejects any attempt to downplay this event. Additionally, TCS believes all discussions, even on difficult topics, should be respectful and peaceful.
The teacher’s post was made in her personal capacity, not as a representative of TCS. Still, we understand that there are questions about professionalism.
Please know that TCS takes the professionalism of our educators very seriously. We are reviewing this matter according to the law and school board policies. Because this involves a personnel issue, we are unable to make any further comments.“
Peterson Media Group was first made aware of this situation via screenshots where it appeared that Monica Blake-Beasley, Criminal Justice Teacher at Tullahoma High School, liked and commented on a post that called Kirk a “racist, xenophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, white nationalist mouthpiece.”
The alleged comment made by Blake-Beasley on the post contained a meme and indicated Kirk “thought some deaths were necessary to keep the 2nd Amendment relevant but never thought it would be his own.”
Blake-Beasley shared a meme with a caption “FAFO”, which is widely considered slang for “F*** around and find out.”
Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, while speaking at a college campus in Utah. Tyler Robinson, age 22, has been charged in Kirk’s killing.
Below are the screenshots appearing to document Blake-Beasley’s like (or “love”) on the post and the comment made on the post from Blake-Beasley’s account.
Peterson Media Group reached out to Blake-Beasley for comment but has not received a response at this time of this story.
