In November, Dr. Dillehay was named the Tullahoma City Schools’ Principal of the Year. Additionally, Dr. Wilkerson was chosen as the TCS Supervisor of the Year.
“I love getting the opportunity to highlight our staff members, and I am excited to celebrate Dr. Wilkerson and Dr. Dillehay at the Jan. 20 Board of Education meeting,” said TCS Director of Schools Dr. Catherine Stephens. “Both Dr. Dillehay and Dr. Wilkerson demonstrate high degrees of managing and motivating students and faculty. They both evoke high standards and demonstrate a commitment to excellence that showcases itself in exceptional gains in student learning. Congratulations to both Dr. Dillehay and Dr. Wilkerson.”
Dr. Dillehay is the principal of East Middle School and has held that position since 2019. Before joining EMS, Dr. Dillehay served as the principal at Robert E. Lee Elementary School.
“I’ve been blessed to work with wonderful folks throughout my career,” Dr. Dillehay said. “As for my time at East Middle School, it is amazing to see the commitment, dedication, and care that our teachers and staff pour into our students on a daily basis. I’m blessed to be a small part of such a fantastic team, and this award reflects the intentional and consistent efforts of our teachers, staff, students, and stakeholders. I’m proud of our school, and I love living in a community that truly values educating the next generation.”
Dr. Wilkerson serves as the district’s Director of Special Education and 504, a position that she has held since 2020. Prior to that role, she served as the Special Education Coordinator and also worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
“This honor is a testament to the outstanding general education and special education staff I am blessed to work with on a daily basis,” Dr. Wilkerson said. “We have such wonderful and professional teachers in our district, and this is purely a reflection of our team. My favorite part of this role is two-fold. I love watching our students grow beyond their potential from preschool to graduation. I also enjoy the daily interactions that I have with the faculty and staff who truly and consistently challenge all students today for their limitless tomorrow.”
While honoring both Dr. Dillehay and Dr. Wilkerson, the Tullahoma Board of Education will also recognize and take action on tenure for eligible candidates. The January Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, and will begin at 5 p.m.
