Tennessee is now the 5th least expensive market in the nation
Gas prices across Tennessee moved two cents more expensive over last week, on average. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.66 which is four cents less expensive than one month ago and 89 cents more expensive than one year ago.
In our listening area, Grundy County has the lowest prices currently at $3.55 per gallon, which is 11 cents below the state average. The next lowest is Coffee County at $3.59 and Franklin County at $3.63. Bedford comes in at $3.64 and Moore County is above the state average at $3.69.
“Elevated crude oil prices are still putting upward pressure on prices at the pump. This means that Tennesseans are likely to see more expensive Labor Day gas prices than last year, when driver’s paid $2.76 per gallon for gasoline ,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Even with higher gas prices, it’s not likely to deter Tennesseans from taking a road trip for the holiday weekend. While gas prices are a factor that travelers consider when planning a road trip, it’s typically not the deciding factor.”
Tennessee prices are still below the National average of $4.08. California is by far the most expensive gas in the nation at an average of $5.69 per gallon.
