On Tuesday, May 5, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department posted the following message to Facebook:
“The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a potential threat involving two 9th-grade students on Facebook. An investigation was immediately conducted, and both students were taken into custody.
“At this time, it appears there is no ongoing threat to the public. Due to the involvement of juveniles, no further information can be released.
“The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Coffee County Schools take all threats seriously and remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and students.”
