Carol Diane Sain Davis, age 74, passed from this life on August 13, 2026. She was born on June 26, 1952, in Manchester, Tennessee, to Marjorie Sain.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved son, James Douglas “Doug” Davis; her grandparents, Arnie and Irene Sain; and a host of aunts and uncles whom she truly adored.
She leaves behind her loving sister, Karen Donnell (Wesley); daughter-in-law, Pam Arp (Ricky); grandchildren, Cameron Davis Rigsby (Cody), James “Cade” Davis, and Douglas “Chase” Davis; and great-granddaughter, Saylor Elizabeth Rigsby. She was also eagerly looking forward to welcoming another great-grandbaby, who is on the way. She leaves behind many other family members and friends who will forever cherish the love and joy she brought into their lives.
Carol was a lifelong member of Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher to many children throughout the years. She loved her church and her church family dearly, and her love for Jesus was immeasurable. Her faith was strong, genuine, and evident in every part of her life. She didn’t simply speak about her faith—she lived it through the way she loved and served others.
Carol worked for Tennessee Apparel Corporation for many years, eventually retiring as a plant manager due to health issues. Retirement, however, did not slow her desire to care for others. She became a caregiver, a role that seemed perfectly suited for her loving and compassionate heart. She treated every person she cared for as though they were her own family. She found great joy in filling their days with hope, friendship, faith, and, most of all, love.
Carol also served as a board member of the Multi-County Cancer Support Network, an organization that held a very special place in her heart. She worked passionately to help families facing difficult circumstances, always looking for ways to offer support, encouragement, and a little hope when they needed it most.
If you knew Carol, you knew that she loved with her whole heart. She had a gift for making people feel loved and remembered. She sent hundreds of cards every year because she wanted people to know she was thinking about them. Whether through a handwritten card, a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her presence, Carol was always looking for a way to bring a little sunshine into someone else’s day.
And Carol loved a little sparkle and “bling,” as she called it. She loved to dress up and celebrate every holiday, always finding a way to make life a little brighter and more joyful. Her colorful spirit was reflected not only in the way she dressed, but in the way she lived.
Carol made it her life’s mission to help others. She was full of love and gave that love freely and completely. She never seemed to run out of kindness, compassion, encouragement, or joy. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to love God, love people, and leave the world a little brighter than you found it.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, generosity, and unconditional love will live on through her family, friends, church family, and the countless lives she touched.
Carol loved with her whole heart—and she will be loved and missed with ours.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Barron officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
