On Thursday, April 23, Judge Travis R. McDonough of the Tennessee Eastern District Court granted a continuance in the case of USA v. Marvin Carson.
Carson, a Tullahoma resident and owner of Carson Chiropractic Clinic in Manchester, is faced with charges related to possession of child pornography.
Carson’s initial summary schedule was set as follows:
- Defendant’s pretrial motions due – April 20, 2026
- Plea deadline – April 20, 2026
- Jury instructions due – May 4, 2026
- Final pretrial conference – May 4, 2026 at 3 p.m.
- Trial – May 11, 2026 at 9 a.m.
Carson’s summary schedule is now set as follows:
- Defendant’s pretrial motions due – June 22, 2026
- Plea deadline – June 22, 2026
- Jury instructions due – July 6, 2026
- Final pretrial conference – July 6, 2026, at 3 p.m.
- Trial – July 13, 2026 at 9 a.m.
Carson requested the continuance through counsel on Sunday, April 19. The document supplied the following reasoning for the request:
“Following written request from Dr. Carson’s counsel on February 13, 2026, the government provided initial discovery productions to the defense on March 18 and 19, 2026, but it has informed defense counsel that additional discovery is forthcoming. The discovery disclosed to date consists of numerous law enforcement body camera videos from the execution of a search warrant at Dr. Carson’s residence as well as several documentary items. Following an initial review of these materials, further discovery requests have been made to the government, to include additional body camera footage, any search warrant applications and affidavits, and related information. The defense is still in the process of more fully analyzing the discovery produced and conducting necessary defense investigation.”
Carson was first arrested at his residence in Tullahoma on Feb. 5 by local law enforcement. On Feb. 12, FBI Special Agent Jordan Austin submitted a complaint against Carson in the Tennessee Eastern District Court.
On Feb. 12, the Court issued an arrest warrant for Carson. He was charged with knowing possession of or access with intent to view any film, videotape, computer disk, or material that contains child pornography knowing that the material is child pornography and that the material had been shipped or transported using any means or facility of interstate commerce or in or affecting interstate commerce by any means, including by computer.
A Grand Jury indictment of Carson was filed on Feb. 24. Carson submitted a not guilty plea to the Court on March 5 at his arraignment.
