A sinkhole has opened on Old Estill Road in the dip of the road between the entrance to Swimplex and Fire Hall #2.
The Winchester Mayor’s Office posted on Facebook about the sinkhole on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The post warned that the roadway has been reduced to one lane and advised drivers to use extreme caution and watch for ponding on the roadways.
The mayor’s office will provide an update when repairs are completed, though it may take some time for engineers to find a solution.
