Due to an extended forecast of dangerously cold temperatures, warming shelters in Manchester and Shelbyville are opening Monday, Dec. 29. A shelter will open in Tullahoma on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Manchester
The Ada Wright Center in Manchester will be open from 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29 through noon on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The Ada Wright Center is located at 328 N Woodland St. For more information, call 931-728-2999.
Shelbyville
According to Shelbyville NOW, Fair Haven Baptist Church (FBHC) will be open from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. on the evenings of Dec. 29 through Jan. 1. An evening meal, morning meal, and place to sleep will be provided. FBHC is located at 2726 Hwy 231 N.
For transportation, call John at 931-639-3321. The Soup Kitchen parking lot, Shelbyville-Bedford County Public Library, and the Gateway Church parking lot at the red-light driveway have been designated as pick up points. Pickups will begin at the Soup Kitchen at 5:30 p.m.
Tullahoma
Tullahoma has not announced any warming shelters opening on Dec. 29 at the time of this article. The Cedar Lane Church of Christ will open at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4. The Tullahoma Winter Shelter Project’s full schedule is published below:
