On Thursday, March 26, the Manchester Veterans of Foreign Wars All-American Post 10904 hosted its annual Vietnam-era Veterans Honors Dinner.

Your Manchester Veterans of Foreign Wars All-American Post 10904 was privileged to host its 9th annual Vietnam-era Veterans Honors Dinner on Thursday, March 26th at the Coffee County Veterans Building, 130 Shelton Road in Manchester. Veterans who served during the Vietnam conflict period (November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975), as well as their spouses and/or family members, were honored at the event. So popular was the event that registration reached capacity within two weeks of announcement on Post 10904’s website and Facebook page.
Retired Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Fred Kasper served as Master of Ceremonies. The event featured a video that showcased four of the Post’s Vietnam veterans, who discussed their experiences during different periods of the war.
Guest speaker for the evening was Captain Sherwin Dean Northcutt, U.S. Army, Vietnam. Having served in Vietnam in 1968/69, he had recently traveled back to Vietnam. He explained the experiences he’d had over 50 years ago, and the incredible contrasts to the country it is today.
Retired Army Sergeant Major Donald Rymer presented a wooden model of the very UH-1 “Huey” helicopter he’d flown aboard for over 1,000 combat hours, earning the Bronze Star with “V” for Valor and fifteen Army Air Medals for aviation combat.
Special Military Support Awards were presented to Captain Northcutt and Linda Curran of O’Charley’s Restaurant for their support of the Post and for their personal contributions to the success of the event.
