The City of Manchester recently notified the public that its water department will perform its annual state-mandated water distribution system flushing on July 19 and 20.
Manchester Water Department personnel hope to complete the flushing operation between 11 p.m. on July 19 and 6 a.m. on July 20. Water department customers may experience law water pressure and discolored water during this time.
The water department recommends that customers flush cold-water faucets until water runs clear if discoloration occurs, avoid washing clothes during the flushing period or until water runs clear, and limit the use of hot water during the flushing period to prevent discolored water from entering water heaters.
